It is with great honour that we can announce our selection as a finalist in this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards “Family Entrepreneur of the Year” award for the South East Region.

Launched in 2012, the GB Entrepreneur Awards aims to shine a light on Great British entrepreneurs. Since it’s launch it has grown into a community and ecosystem of some 50,000 entrepreneurs and their supporters.

For the 1st time in the awards history the South East was judged as a region in its own right with 61 entrepreneurs from 51 businesses shortlisted across 13 categories.

On being shortlisted, Managing Director Oliver Butts said: “I am absolutely delighted. Being a family business it certainly wouldn’t have been possible without my mother and father giving me the strong foundations to grow the business and being strong mentors. They have allowed me to fulfil my hopes and aspirations in my working life.”

The company which is based in Waldron, near Heathfield, was founded in 2000 by Bob and Juliet Butts after they discovered some vintage soap moulds in a machinery workshop in Kent. This coincided with Juliet finding a 25-year-old book about soap making which sparked Bob’s fascination.

Oliver joined Christina May in 2012 to work alongside his parents. Bob remains the Senior Director and Juliet is Company Secretary. Ailsa, Oliver’s wife, joined the company as Operations Manager in 2016.
