Meet the Team: Part Three

It’s that time again! Are you ready for part three to our meet the team series?

Throughout the years our team here at The English Soap Company has grown dramatically. What we achieve daily would not be possible without the wonderful people that reside in each department, so let’s shine the spotlight on the people that make us who we are.

Creative Department

Name: Kelsey

Job Role: Brand and Marketing Manager

Hobbies (likes): Baking sourdough bread, cooking, running and keeping all my plants alive.

Last book I read: How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie which I realise makes me sound a bit earnest so I will also give my current book recommendation; Honey and Spice by Bolu Babalola which is great and much more upbeat!

Coolest thing you are working on right now?: It is TOP secret so I can’t give away anything right now but I cannot wait for it to launch.

Favourite product and why: The Mango and Peach Soap from our Anniversary Collection. Firstly it smells incredible, secondly I absolutely love the packaging. It is the perfect fragrance for summer.

Top ESC product tip: Not the most out there tip but I take our Kew Hand Sanitisers and Hand Creams with me everywhere I go. Both conveniently sized 100ml or less they fit perfectly in my handbag which is ideal for day trips to London or when I’m off on my holidays.

Best thing about where I work: It’s really hard to pick just one thing but it would have to be the setting in where we work. Working within the Marketing team we are constantly inspired by our surroundings and this time of year the views and scenery are truly breath-taking.

Packing Department

Name: Chloe and Rachel

Job Role: Packing and Online Orders

Hobbies (likes): Crochet and concerts (C). Horse riding and bonfire society (R).

Last book I read: Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (C). Spare by Prince Harry (R).

Coolest thing you are working on right now?: Getting as many orders out as possible, it’s interesting to see what people buy and the current trends. Right now it is hand creams, all the orders are full of them.

Favourite product and why?: Coconut Soap as it reminds me of summer (C). Bergamot and Ginger Hand Wash because it smells delicious (R).

Top ESC product tip: I like keeping a soap bar in my car as an air freshener replacement, it always smells nice (C). My top tip is to use a Soap Saver Pouch to keep my reusable make up remover pads in. You can also wash them in the soap saver too (R).

Best thing about where I work: Every day is different from the last (C). The people I work with (R).

Sales Department

Name: Larisa

Job Role: Sales Administrator

Hobbies (likes): Travelling (especially to Italy), dancing and dance music, gardening, cooking and having fun with family.

Last book I read: I don’t, I just watch movies. I would recommend 2 Hearts on Netflix (you may cry a lot!).

Coolest thing you are working on right now?: Outside of work I am currently moving house so that takes up a lot of my time, but within work I work together with my manager focusing my efforts on all the international orders that come through our department.

Favourite product and why: Magnolia and Pear, Jasmine Peach Kew Gardens Soaps and the Sicilian Lemon and Sweet Orange fragrance from the Anniversary Collection, because I love summer and they all remind me of past holidays.

Top ESC product tip: I always pop a naked soap bar in my airing cupboard with my clean towels and bed linen to keep them smelling fresh.

Best thing about where I work: Sometimes it doesn’t feel like work, the people and the atmosphere make it such good fun that the days fly by.

Managing Director

Name: Oliver

Job Role: Managing Director

Hobbies (likes): Astrophotography, taking photos of deep sky objects and night-time landscapes and gaming.

Last book I read: Leviathan Falls by The Expanse Novels

Coolest thing you are working on right now?: We have just returned back from a trade show in the Far East, it’s exciting to begin engaging in new markets.

Favourite product and why: The Narwhal 190g Soap Bar from our Wonderful Animals Collection. When we were designing this range, it was really challenging to conceptualise, creating an artwork that captured the fun that I envisaged and was also fun to be a part of.

Top ESC product tip: Once finished, I like to wash out the hand sanitiser spray bottles and refill them with water for spritzing my office plants.

Best thing about where I work: Being able to work with such a diverse group of people, with lots of different ideas and being involved in each department. Every day is different.
